Antonia Riviere
With a background in ceramics and textiles, my current work is concerned with mending and making do, patching and repurposing.
I tend to be led by whatever materials I have to hand, and recent pieces include a shawl made from colleagues’ unravelled socks, a necklace made worn out jeans and a tee shirt, and a dress embroidered with unravelled thread from socks, tights and altered clothing - an outcome of research carried out in 2012 as an Artist Scholar at the National Film and Sound Archive of Australia.
